>TQ for the reply。 Has been thinking of keeping ranchu but hesitated due to tank temperature。
>Originally Posted by yeowyin TQ for the reply。 Has been thinking of keeping ranchu but hesitated due to tank temperature。 My pleasure。 Luke warm water can actually prevent white spots/itch disease, and/or other fish diseases which thrives in cold water temperature。 This is my observation in fish keeping hobby for few dacades。。。。 To Each His Own。。
>Goldfish strive well in cooler temperature but again luke warm condition is still ok as long avoid sudden fluctuation。
If u are keeeping TVR or tosakin then it will have problems。
Try to give more aeration as warm water condition have less dissolve oxygen that will cause the goldfish suffocated。
>Dont think youll need glass tank covers for your ranchus。。。

>Originally Posted by hardcore_freak Dont think youll need glass tank covers for your ranchus。。。 The glass top cover is to prevent the water vapour/humid air as well as water from bursting air bubbles from spoiling the wooden cover。 TQ。
>Tosakin and tvr must keep in a calm water condition with only bubble aeration provided, no strong current from filtration system and require cooler water temperature。 Those high end tvr and tosakin from japan and thailand are not meant for newbie, require skill in grooming and knowledge in water management。
Goldfish keeping is not as easy as keeping other fishes。 The thumb of rules require 50 litres water per goldfish and very frequent wc at 50% daily or alternate day, gf are known as poos machine with high bio load, to avoid from sickness, water condition must not be contaminated。
Filtration is not an excuse to prolong wc and best practice to spread many small feeding instead of one heavy meal。

Can I keep Ranchu at 30C? AROWANA Forum suggest you take some precious time to read up all the entire threads in goldfish section before embark on the long journey of gf keeping。
You need to have strong discipline, commitment and hardworking attitude to have goldfish as pet。
I usually discourage newbie to lay their hand on high end goldfish, even those cheap goldfish is a living thing and owner should have the kind of passion to provide full tlc if not better dont start and kill the lovely goldfish。
>Yup
TVR requires total dedication commitment。
