new stingray priceNew Tank setup thought

Guys - I am stocking up my grow tank and in the meantime will build the new one here is what I am thinking!
78";x 26";x 30";
Filter I will build underneath and open system (no internal just outlet and inlet pipes)
Big question I have it will be hard to cycle the new tank as it will need to replace the foot print of the old so what is your thoughts on how to achive this? i。e。 move the fish from the old to the new?
Cheers
Chris

This is quite headache but Ive done this couple of times and so far no mishap。 This is wat i did!
Try to store as much old water as u can from the old tank,can baby STINGRAYs sting and fill up ur new tank at least 1/3 with the old water, fill up the rest with new water。
Add some bacteria。 Transfer ur old filter media to ur new filter system。
How big is ur old tank?
>Yeah this was what I was thinking to do the old one is 48"; I can store all the water somehow lol switch them over。。。
>i would think the filter media would be more impt since most of the good bact are stored there。 water should not make much diff as long as you replace with clean, un-clorinated water。 in rivers/oceans, fishes experience 100% water change every few seconds =P

>ok after looking today I am thinking one of the following now what do you think is a better size!
72"; x 30"; x 30";
or
84"; x 24"; x 30";

Cheers If I am to choose, I will prefer a wider width at least 30";。 If you have no space constraint,new STINGRAY price you may even consider a 36"; width!
As for the cycling of tank, I do agreed that using old media accompanied with some old tank water should do the trick。 You may even consider doing a 50% WC once every 2 days on your current 48"; tank by transferring old water to your cycling tank and top up new water into your 48";。
I believe that should do the trick in speeding up your cycle。。。
>1st thing is to declorinate the water and run the filtration, if it is from tap。 Too many chemical into the water that make it unsafe for fish, even the healthiest and strongest will not survive。 After a couple of days, put in a few feeder fish to test whether they survive。 If they did, then add in a couple of fish each day, this is to cut down casualty!new stingray priceNew Tank setup thoughts?
