ph problems

Hey guys initially my ph used to be low n so i put in cc n it works. Now, i have change my entire filter to 2080. But the problem is my ph too high at 8.1. I removed my cc for a few days already but still at 8.1. I added bio bacteria powder for 2 weeks already. So wat is the problem? Is it due to new filter? Also do i add in ph powder or juz still wait? Thanks guys.

Thanks guys. ya... your old tank PH drop because of waste that stuck at the filter media..causing the Ph to drop.. as for new media.. the ph will be netural as the tap water. so ph is higher.. you can try add peat moss or acid buffer to lower the ph.. but do becareful if you no control cos the ph will drop even lower then your old filter setup
btw..what fishes you are keeping... if your fishes are not ph sentitive then not so worry.

Add more bioloads(tankmates) and give it afew weeks to settle down, ph sure down down down. I fully agreed with the above bro explanation.
>just wait. the pH will drop naturally over time.
>Originally Posted by daniel86 just wait. the pH will drop naturally over time. But how long more? Will the arowana be able to take it cause currently i am staving the fish for pellet training.
>If your are worried about your aro, you can add some ph minus solution for the time being as waiting for the ph to gradually drop to your old tank ph within the near future is not possible.

Thanks guys. I hope u did not plug in the new 2080 and removed the old filtration ya.....
if yes, then to me its new tank syndrome, that is why ph is high now. For the new 2080 to fully matured, it may take up to a month.
personally i will add commercial bb to speed up the cycle process. Do not do large WC as it will prolong the cycling to complete.
cheers

Yea remove the old filter. Been adding bio bacteria for 2 eeeks already. So can i say that after a month ph will start to drop again?
>If u follow the right dosage...then yes, it should cycle soon.
U may also check the water readings as that will give u clue, its at which stage. ie the nitrate start to show Baling Aquarium
